Preparing goods for safe road transport

Packing, labelling and paperwork that prevent damage, shortages and delays.

Most transport damage and disputes start before the truck arrives. A little preparation makes delivery smooth.

Packing

  • Use strong cartons and fill empty space so items cannot move.
  • Stack heavier cartons at the bottom and shrink-wrap pallets.
  • Protect corners and edges of machinery and furniture.

Labelling

  • Label each piece with the delivery address, receiver and number of pieces (for example, 3 of 40).
  • Mark fragile items and "this way up" clearly.

Paperwork

  • Have the delivery note, packing list and any gate pass ready for the driver.
  • Put your PO number in the booking. It prints on our delivery note and invoice.

At handover

  • Count pieces with the driver; the count is recorded in the Driver App with load photos.
  • At delivery, ask the receiver to check pieces and note any damage before signing.

If something is wrong, report it in the portal within 48 hours so we can investigate quickly.
